Working With Glass Powder (Day 2)

This class is intended for new and experienced glass workers who would like
to explore a variety of ways to use powder to create images and textures
on glass.
The objectives for the course are to:
– Create a crackle bowl
– Create freeze and fuse elements
– Create glass wafers
– Create images using glass powder
During the class you will have the opportunity to create one 5-inch crackle
bowl, one 5 X 10 “painting”, as well as some freeze and fuse elements and
glass wafers.
DATE & TIME
Friday, October 24th from 6-8:30pm AND
Sunday, October 26th from 12-3pm AND
Tuesday, October 28th from 6-8:30pm
SUPPLIES NEEDED
- Materials kit from instructor (see details below)
- N95 Mask (required when working with powders)
- Pencil, paper, pen
- Safety glasses (can be borrowed from LSGA)
- OPTIONAL: Stencils, Rubber Stamps

The course fee is $85, as well as a $40 materials kit (Class total: $125).

Kathy began working with glass in in 2004. She has taken a variety of
workshops in everything from stained glass, mosaics, stepping stones,
glass fusing, painting on glass, glass blowing, and lampworking. Working
from her home studio, Kathy sells her work at various markets in Alberta.
She teaches glass classes and is the past president of the Lethbridge
Society of Glass Artisans and the Saskatoon Glassworkers’ Guild.
OTHER DETAILS
For safety reasons, closed toe shoes are required in the studio.
Please be aware that this is a working studio and there is a possibility that LSGA members may at times access the space during a class.
