Enjoying Stained Glass

Tuesdays & Thursdays 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

March 26 & 28, April 2, 4, 9, 11, 16 and 18, 2024

This Stained Glass Class is designed to teach people how to choose or create a design; cut glass; wrap it in lead came or copper foil and solder it together to produce a finished stained glass piece for hanging or standing.

The course will be held at the Lethbridge Society of Glass Artisans Studio which is located at the McNally Community Center.

All the tools such as grinders, soldering irons, grossing pliers, glass cutters and other equipment will be provided at the studio. Included in the price of enrollment will be the cost of your first initial project. After completing a small project designed to teach you many useful techniques the class will work on their Individually chosen projects and they will need to purchase the following supplies. Supplies for glass work is available through the society.

• Glass ( approximately $20.00 square foot)
• 1 roll of 60/40 Solder (approximately $25.00 per spool)
• 1 roll of copper foil (approximately $10 per roll) or U channel lead Came
• Pencil, pen, paper, a permanent sharpie marker
• A smooth plywood work board with a L shaped border

EIGHT LESSON WORKSHOP REGISTRATION FEES $250.00

Liz Allen has over 40 years of experience working with stained glass in both the lead and copper foil techniques. She is a longstanding member of LSGA.

Participants who have not learned the art of cutting glass will need to take a lesson prior to the first class. Call Liz to make arrangements.
