SUMMARY:Create Fused Glass Embellishments - Merrill Wight & Denise Marcotte $75
DESCRIPTION:If you have taken an introductory fused glass class and want to take glass fusing to the next level then this workshop is for you! We’ve learned that part of the fun of fused glass is creating your own embellishments. We’d love to share what we’ve learned to help you create beautiful\, unique art pieces. In this workshop students will learn how to:  \n\n\n\n\nCreate details with freeze and fuse\n\n\n\nUse modeling glass in molds\n\n\n\nUse modeling glass to create freestyle\, unique designs.\n\n\n\nUse Glassline paint\n\n\n\nCreate glass wafers using powder.\n\n\n\nLearn tips for creating and using glass stringers\n\n\n\n\nStudents will take home a variety of embellishments for future projects. \n\n\n\nDenise Marcotte has been working with kiln formed glass for a few years. She enjoys exploring the creative possibility of fused glass using powders and enamels and using them to build mainly landscapes and nature themes. \n\n\n\nMerrill Wight loves working with fused glass and a variety of mediums to enhance her creations. Creating unique embellishments has allowed a new level of creativity. \n\n\n\nCome and learn with us as we share our passion in glass. \n\n\n\n**change Featured tag\, Add Event Categories\, Edit Excerpt and Add Picture for Excerpt \n\n\n\nDATE & TIME\n\n\n\nFebruary 23rd\, 2026 from 6-9pm \n\n\n\nLOCATION\n\n\n\nLethbridge Society of Glass Artisans Studio at McNally Community Center / McNally Artist Studios\, just past Evergreen Golf Course (see map here or on the Location page of this website).Please enter from the North\, ground-level door at the back (East/parking lot) side of the building. There is an LSGA sign on this door. \n\n\n\nREGISTRATION & INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION\n\n\n\nCost: $60.00 (all glass supplies and tools are included except face mask/respirator).  \n\n\n\nAdvance registration is required. Registration accepted until February 20\, 2026. \n\n\n\nPlease contact Merrill Wight at 403-332-2768 or by email at wight.merrill@gmail.com. Please send email transfers to wight.merrill@gmail.com following confirmation that there is available space in the workshop. \n\n\n\nThis workshop will be open to 10 students and will run with a minimum of 4.
